Any type of acne can come out on the back including whiteheads and blackheads, papules (a deeper) or the acne can form deep in the skin and cause acne cysts.. The skin of your back is much thicker than the skin that covers other parts of the body where acne is prone to appear. The majority of people do not wash their backs as well as they should, so altering this bad habit will bring about quick results. You also do not want the skin on your back to get excessively dry.
For some, mild acne may be controlled with over the counter preparations containing benzoil peroxide, sulfur or salicylic acid. These kill the inflammation inducing bacteria, which prevents new pimples from forming. They may also act as a drying agent to help control the oil, or as an exfoliating agent, allowing old skin to come off and open the pores.
Wash yourself thoroughly but gently. Don't scrub. Scrubbing will remove too much of the skin's natural oils causing the skin glands to respond by over-producing skin oil, one of the principal causes of acne. For the same reason dry yourself with a clean towel carefully rather than vigorously. Don't use alcohol based cleaners as these will wipe out the natural skin oils leading the skin glands to react with over-production of skin oil.
